Casa Patricia is a delightful 2-bedroom townhouse, just up the road from Armacao de Pera on the Algarve coast west of Albufeira, and is one of just ten houses with lovely sea views from both the lounge and master bedrooms.

Casa Patricia has a good sized kitchen will all mod cons - and new as well as the house has only just been built! This means we have hob, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave as well as an iron and ironing board. The other "mod cons" in this townhouse include UK satellite TV and a DVD player plus air conditioning in the lounge as well as both bedrooms.

By the way, this house is a no-smoking house - but who wants to sit inside when you can sit out on the spacious balconies facing the sea and breath in that lovely fresh air!

The master bedroom in Casa Patricia has a double bed and full ensuite bathroom. There is more than enough space in the bedroom for a third bed - actually more than one but let's talk about that!

The second bedroom has twin beds but again has plenty of room for a third single. The second bathroom is a spacious shower/wc. Actually, there is an additional door up here which can close off this second bathroom and bedroom making this an ensuite suite as well!

Downstairs is a cloakroom - toilet and basin which, in common with the other bathrooms is in a marble surround.

So that makes 2 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a great balcony with sea view on the first floor.

On the ground floor is the cloakroom, the kitchen and a large lounge/diner again with a large balcony with sea view. You also have a view of the pool and garden area of the next door complex - and it's a lovely view.

The lounge has two large sofas, both of which open out into double beds - so plenty of room for choice of sleeping arrangements. Parties of up to 6 are very welcome but if you have more than 6 people come and talk to us and we'll see what can be done - no promises.

The dining table seats 6 and of course the sofas seat 3 each as well.

As mentioned above, we have UK satellite TV in the house with just basic programmes - but if you would like to bring your own card then you'll have a wider range. You'll not have all the programmes you'll get at home unless you bring your own box as well, but at least you'll have more. Don't forget to take it home again!

Outside is a spacious garden area by the side of the swimming pool. We have some loungers you can put by the pool but would ask that the tables and chairs on both balconies stay at the house - as you can see from the photos, they're too nice for other people!

This house is also a great place to come for a winter break as well - perhaps Christmas away from home? The air conditioning units provide great heating and there is a lovely enclosed log fire in the lounge as well if you feel adventurous - and it looks great on the cooler evenings!

Other important points in favour of Casa Patricia is that the beach is within easy walking distance and the supermarket is also within a stone's throw of the house. Cafes and restaurants are also within walking distance so it's possible to have a great holiday without a car!

If you do decide to hire a car while you're here to investigate more of what the Algarve has to offer, you may like to drive up into the hills where you'll find the towns of Loulé, Alte, Messines and Silves, all of which are full of history and local charm. Just driving around the hills offers ample opportunity to explore and appreciate the beauty of the countryside and the gentle pace of life existing away from the hustle and bustle of the coast and the tourist resorts.

Along the coast are the more popular tourist attractions - including Krazy World - which boasts a great swimming pool with a couple of shallow pools for very small children, extremely krazy golf, a zoo, pony rides, a children's funfair and those really great trampolines where you bounce sky high but are safely harnessed.

There are also a number of water parks, popular ones include Aqualand at Porches, and Slide n' Splash at Lagoa/Carvoeiro.

Zoomarine is near Albufeira and is another superb day out - and it's here that you can swim with the dolphins!
